Seeds & Crops Tier List

A comprehensive ranking of every crop in Grow a Garden 2 through August 2026, including Star Fruit, Eclipse Bloom, and Fall Harvest additions — based on ROI, growth speed, and defensive viability.

Understanding the Crop Economy

In Grow a Garden 2, seeds are the engine of your economy. The value of a crop is determined by its base price, growth time, potential for multiple harvests, and its susceptibility to mutations.

The introduction of the Night Stealing mechanic adds a critical new dimension to crop selection. The ideal crop for most players is one that grows quickly enough to be harvested before nightfall.

Crops Tier List

Seven Crop Rarities in GAG2

GAG2 adds Super as the highest rarity above Mythic. Higher rarity = higher seed cost, lower restock rate, and typically higher sell values.

RarityExample CropsTypical Strategy
CommonCarrot (1¢), Strawberry (10¢)First 30 minutes — safe, fast turnover
UncommonTomato, AppleEarly income bridge to Rare tier

This tier list evaluates crops based on their return on investment (ROI), growth speed, and utility in a defensive farming environment.

TierCrop ExamplesEvaluation & Strategy
S-TierStar Fruit, Eclipse Bloom, Moon Bloom, Dragon's Breath, Ghost Pepper, StrawberryStar Fruit has the highest ceiling (100x Glow). Eclipse Bloom triggers 80x Eclipsed weather. Moon Bloom and Dragon's Breath remain the F2P and defense staples.

GAG2 Mutation System (Updated August 2026)

Grow a Garden 2 overhauls mutations from the original game. Each crop can only hold ONE mutation at a time — stacking is removed. Weather events are the primary trigger. Note: Bloodlit was corrected from 80x to 60x in July.

Critical: Unlike GAG1, you cannot stack Wet + Gold + Rainbow on one crop. Plan around single high-value mutations.

Current Mutation Multipliers

Wiki-verified through August 2026. Glow (100x) from Star Fruit leads; Eclipsed (80x) follows; Bloodlit and Ignited sit at 60x.

MutationMultiplierWeather Trigger

Mutation Strategy and Risk Management

In GAG2, a Glow Star Fruit or Veil-mutated Peach is worth harvesting immediately — 100x and 50x multipliers make them the #1 theft targets during night cycle.

Practical Rule: Harvest any weather-mutated S-Tier or A-Tier crop before nightfall. One Bloodlit or Electric mutation is worth more than an entire unmutated harvest.

Camp weather events actively. Eclipse (Eclipsed 80x), Sunburst (Ignited 60x), and Bloodmoon (Bloodlit 60x) are short windows — have high-tier seeds planted before the event starts.

Read our Weather Events page for event durations and the full mutation table.
